Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the ToFi app. By using ToFi you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What ToFi is
ToFi is a personal finance tool that displays financial account information you choose to connect. It is not a bank, broker, lender, or financial advisor, and it does not hold, move, or transfer money.
ToFi does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. The balances, budgets, categories, and net worth figures it shows are informational, are derived from data supplied by your institutions through Plaid, and may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Always check with your bank or brokerage before acting on anything you see here.
Your account
You need to sign in to use ToFi, and you are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to it secure. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
Your Plaid developer account
ToFi connects to institutions using Plaid credentials you supply from your own Plaid developer account. You are responsible for complying with Plaid's own terms, for any usage or fees your Plaid account incurs, and for keeping your credentials accurate. You may rotate your secret at any time from Settings.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Connect financial accounts you are not authorized to access
- Attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
- Reverse engineer the app except where that right cannot be lawfully restricted
- Use ToFi for any unlawful purpose
Third-party services
ToFi depends on Plaid and on your financial institutions. We do not control them and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or acts. Your use of Plaid is also governed by Plaid's terms and privacy policy.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of ToFi. We will give reasonable notice of material changes to these terms where practical, and will update the effective date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
Ending your use
You may stop using ToFi and delete your account at any time — see the support page. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms or that we are legally required to act on.
Disclaimer and liability
ToFi is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any financial decision you make based on information shown in the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud.

Our handling of your information is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
